Is this conference story a lie? Did they slander another company just to put spin on the news?(They may have slandered Xact, but they acquired them) But, it isn't really clear because the company has lost credibility. Therefore, there is no way to predict the future based on "facts" since there is nothing we can point to as a fact. So it is time to get out your crystal ball or wait on the sidelines. The only ones who know are inside...No much selling there except for Ron...
However, in the company's favor,WIND is now way over-scrutinized, mostly by shorts who are crowing and longs who are whining.... both reacting to a total turnaround in performance since July 4, 1997.
I suggest that you all not get too uptight about small details like the postponing of a conference, or a week or two delay in a release. The proof is in the pudding and the pudding is nearly ready. Is T2 going to be good software? Is TMS going to be good software? Is Tornado for Imaging going to be good software? This is where we will all live or die...And we will find out soon because they will all be released soon. So unless you're a day-trader trying to guess on a day-to-day basis, I would ride this one out for a short while and then we'll know!!! Has anyone out there seen and worked on the Beta version of T2? Does anyone know anything substantive about the quality of the new software? This is a software company. Yes, PR is important. Yes, IR is important, Yes, conferences are important. But this is a company that engineers and markets software. So how is the software? How is the beef? I am sure that there will be some and I don't think that it will stink. But will it be filet mignon like Tornado or will it be like WIndows 3.1? By the way, as far as I know, this is the same engineering team that produced the Tornado that made us all pretty rich two years ago. Is that correct?
As far as marketing goes, their vertical marketing strategy has mind boggling potential. Tornado for Imaging and Tornado for Managed Switches can be truly revolutionary products that give engineers capabilities that do not exist and there is little potential for competition if these solutions work properly. They are one-of-a-kind solutions that have great potential in time-to-market and simplification of solutions. And WIND has emphasized that they are building a support team to help people manufacture using these solutions.
Can we talk software for a minute and forget the STREET? I think that the Day Trader mentality is affecting a lot of us.I know it is affecting me."I should be making 20-30% in a day and then I don't have to worry about the rest of the year."
