N. went to high school with a fellow who looked exactly like a Neanderthal. The boy's name was Ned, and he couldn't have been a sweeter person, N says. And he was so unfortunate looking.

Maybe that was some recessive Neanderthal genes popping up. Maybe it means that Neanderthals were real sweet, like Ned.
