I think it is a fascinating subject, and have also enjoyed the exchange. It is always a pleasure to find people with such intellectual curiosity and knowledge posting their perspectives on this thread.

I think another fascinating area is Telepresence. As bandwidth opens up, the inevitable result will be the commonplace use of Telepresence.
I can picture the use for example of holograms and Telepresence to actually have your entire image appear while you talk to the other person in a video conversation. Or the use of mulitiple cameras placed strategically at a baseball game, with the video fed into a computer so the live game is replicated in a computer and you could navigate around the field and watch the game from any angle. In true Telepresence you could put your image on the field in the computer, also with all of your expressions picked up by your own video camera that overlays it on a scanned 3d image of yourself. You could in essence move around the baseball field and watch with other people that also had their images present in the computer.

Sincerely,
JW
