TAHERA CORPORATION (TSE: TAH)
TORONTO, April 26 /CNW/ - Tahera Corporation (''Tahera'') has been advised by its joint venture partner, Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc. (''Kennecott''), that a new kimberlite has been discovered on the Ice Claims. The Ice Claims, located approximately 60 km northwest of the Ekati Diamond Mine in the Lac de Gras region of the Northwest Territories, and 80 km south of Tahera's Jericho Diamond Project, encompass approximately 265,000 hectares. The new kimberlite, called ''Vega'', is located on the eastern end of the Ice Claims, approximately 20 km southeast of the Ranch Lake kimberlite. The vertically drilled discovery hole encountered kimberlite at approximately 23 meters and will continue to test the kimberlite to depth. Initial results from caustic fusion analysis to determine if the new kimberlite is diamondiferous should be available within the next few weeks. Kennecott will continue to drill additional kimberlite targets on the Ice Claims and the Rockinghorse Property before the current exploration program winds down in May 1999.
