So, electrics are truly dead. I imagine that we will eventually hear a similiar announcment from GM on the EV1. Lets just hope it is accompanied with an announcement on a hybrid.

Honda Motor Stops Making EV Plus Electric-Powered Vehicle

Tokyo, April 26 (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co., the fifth- largest automaker in the U.S., made its last EV Plus electric- powered vehicle as it ends production of the model to prepare for the arrival of its electric-gasoline car this fall that's code- named the ''V V,'' Automotive News reported. Since beginning production at Honda's Tochigi plant in Japan, the automaker has leased about 300 of the EV Plus vehicles in the U.S., letting it meet its zero-emissions target set by the California Air Resources Board. The vehicle will be replaced by the V V hybrid, which gets about 70 miles to the gallon, that will be built at its Tochigi plant, the magazine said.

Last week, General Motors Corp., the world's biggest automaker, said it will develop with No. 3 Toyota Motor Corp. more fuel-efficient vehicles as competition to make low-emission, high-mileage vehicles intensifies.
