How about our own backyard? I think that would be an excellent place to start. Why not do a comparison study Christine?.
America now, with all it's gun control laws, and America then....back to, let's say..1900. I might go even so far as to say that, we as a nation had far less deaths and injuries due to guns and the like when there were no gun control laws, regulations and mandates...back in the wild wild west...

Start around 1900 Christine and go up to 1960. Give us the stats on just how many school aged children murdered or injured other school children Let's keep it that narrow, since school aged children is the issue. Also if it's not too much trouble check out the stats on how many children under the age of 18 murdered anyone at all. Of course keeping in mind that only those murdered with guns and/or rifles should be considered, legal or otherwise.
It seems to me that we have in this country doubled, tripled or possibly even quadrupled our gun control laws just since the 50's. Gun controls and tightening gun laws...are fairly new phrases in this country. There are Fed. controls now in place, that were never even thought of 40,50,or60 yrs ago.
I'll just take a wild guess that we have a ton more gun control laws, and a ton more more violence and murders to grieve over now, than at any other time in this nation, especially as it relates to teenagers and guns.
Or do you think we even need a formal comparison study at all? Come to think of it, I have never heard that anyone in this country has ever done one. Not even those in favor of mandates and regulations on the items in question. Interesting!
Ironically there appears to be a direct correlation between the rise in the amount of gun control laws, and the incidence of deaths and injuries, associated with what the govt. is attempting to control.
