TELT, deal with Siemens on a wearable computer>>Interactive Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of Teltronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:TELT - news) announced today a partnership agreement with Siemens ElectroCom L.P. Under this agreement, Interactive Solutions will provide the Mentis(tm), voice-activated, mobile computer as the hardware solution for Siemens ElectroCom's new SIMON(tm) (System Integrated Maintenance Online) system.
Based in Arlington, Texas, Siemens ElectroCom is a world-leading manufacturer of sorting and recognition systems for mail processing automation, commercial sorting and imaging, and data acquisition systems.

The Mentis system is a powerful Pentium MMX®-based, voice-controlled, multimedia wearable computer. The standard system configuration includes up to 128 MB DRAM, 4 GB hard drive, PC card slots, full duplex audio card, video card, battery-backed power supply, microphone/speaker, Windows 98®, AT&T Watson speech recognition software, and various wearable options. The system can include full-motion video, CD-quality audio, graphics, and text. Mentis can be worn, carried, or used in a desktop environment to provide real-time access to critical information.
