I have had enough discussion about the differences between Libertarians and modern liberals to last me through countless generations, personally. Hahahaha..I bet you have, if you are a long-time habitue of this thread. I used to come by here to lurk a bit, and there always seemed to be some argument going on about Ayn Rand or such like...But I never got involved in it, so did not have your opportunity to get that sick of it. On the other hand, after having wasted a great deal of time on various Clinton threads, I can tell you I have heard enough irate pro and con on THAT subject to get an automatic gagging response whenever Clinton's name is even mentioned..... As for Lather's thread -- Lather, are you listening? -- it purports to be about "modern" culture but is more precisely about "popular" culture. No place for an intellectual snob like myself. <gg> (Actually, no <gg> about it. I am an intellectual snob.) Joan
