<<But, how can anyone believe the school "knew nothing" about problems between these two groups. NO WAY!!!!>>

Nancy,

I read in a local newspaper that a coach (baseball, I believe) saw a fight between the two groups brewing earlier in the year and told the jocks to knock it off. Apparently, that was it. The teenager being quoted said (not an exact quote, but very close): "He told us to drop it, but he never said we were in danger." I doubt the coach thought last Tuesday was possible. Did the student really expect the coach to anticipate this??

There are two basic problems that I see:

1. There must be other outlets for the anger teenagers build up. That outlet starts with parents. If you are a parent, make sure you provide your child an open ear and mind.

2. We need to teach our children to respect others, not matter how much they disgust you. Acceptance of the "different" person would make school much more enjoyable (and beneficial) for millions of children.
