<< Anyone know why the Java 1.2 JVM can only scale to 8 processors on a Sun machine and when this will be fixed ? >>

Why is this an issue?? I can't imagine having a massive 8 processor machine and running only a single instance of the JVM! That seems a little rediculous. Just as a note, Netscape recommends 2 JVM instances per processor when using Netscape Application Server.

Please explain what you're getting at.

I think you're just trying to distort the truth a little. You can use the JVM just fine, to its full capacity, on a Sun box with more than 8 processors.
