Doug: Next year is not very far out! A XRL prototype next year would be a very important achievement, and probably well ahead of other other technologies. I believe production use of XRL is 5 years out, but the viability of XRL depends on demonstrating this as quickly as possible. This year would be better, but next year is probably also a good result.

Other applications could come much sooner. Please see my response to Bilberry this date.
