I find that if there's sugar in the product that goes in the keyboard, you are toast. Black coffee is OK, but coffee with sugar in it is very bad. Juice is VERY bad.

I've saved a couple of keyboards by taking them apart and soaking them in the sink. The older keyboards (such as the ones on my VT100 terminal) are more fixable, the new ones are designed to be tossed out.
