If you close all of the open windows and then quit the text manager, they will go away. One way to stop the windows from coming back is to save the text manager layout will all closed windows. Then restart the text manager and under the "File" menu, uncheck "Save Layout on Exit". This will stop the headline windows from accumulating every time you exit the Text Manager. JL
