Here is what I think is a good idea for Microsoft in relation to that Media One buy by Comcast or AT&T. Microsoft works out a deal with AOL and Comcast to share the cable internet in some way.---(ie Comcast and "friends" buy Media One) Microsoft and AOL become partners;-deposition of Steve Case is next week;-He will give in to his human nature to not hurt his potential business partner(now or at the rebuttal phase if he is a witness). I am not saying he would lie but in areas which his expert opinion is asked, his opinion may be less damaging to MSFT. MSFT then does well in court-----Then we get a reasonable settlement and case is closed. Most important----we make lots of money!!! I know the idea is silly but who knows. BTW--I thought that is what they did with the Alta Vista (Compaq) deal (for MSN as a search engine) before the CPQ witness took the stand (and really screwed up) . It did not work then but is worth trying again. I say go for it!!
