Sector-I look forward to your comments. My take on the cc: Most of all, a change of tone. Our reticent CEO has turned forthcoming and even displays hype regarding the product line. Was it my imagination or was Noam actually salivating when he talked about the "most viable technology in internetworking or the "only pure play"? All in all,we are at best still a 3Q story but it certainly appears that visibility is improving. The new foundry capacity won't be there until the end of Q2, and it is apparent that the optical division is capacity-constrained. Backlog is 'higher than ever" in optics; Fibredriver, a success, but only modest incremental shipments with a significant backlog. Noam was so forthcoming about the superiority of new products that I am wondering whether they have a new lawyer or just a new interpretation of the Safe Harbor warning. I thought it was significant that his response to the analyst from W. J. Nolan about the wave of consolidation in the industry and MRV's stance toward acquisition was not "we want to go it alone" or "no comment" but that a 100% premium over current market wasn't enough. It sure seems like they have renamed Kempton,HyperChannel. I didn't catch it specifically addressed but Edmund stated that Hyperchannel was the only affiliate with revenues in the prior Q and last call that was Kempton. Noam's statements on the OSR-8000 (linux router) were exceptionally positive. When questioned about the co.'s marketing capability, he referred to this as a "hot product". I'd say a good call...with the gold at the end of the rainbow getting both closer and more abundant, but not here just yet.

Best regards,

Mike

P.S. With FORE being purchased for more than 7 times sales, there is another reason why one can dream bigger.
