Here in Pennsylvania, they do not make allowances for kids. If you aren't 6 years old by that date, you don't enter first grade. Some kids are ready, some are not. But, they all get lumped together in the same learning situation. I think if you can afford it, send her to private school. If you have an exceptionally bright child, do everything in your power to make sure she doesn't get stifled and bored. You can keep an eye on her and make sure that she's not being "pushed" too hard. Start asking around about schools (check out Montessori-that may not be spelled right but you know what I mean) and get her name on the list. Don't think about it anymore, just do it.
