Is CUBE/DIVI evolving into a straight-up competitor with BRCM?
Is this a meaningful comparison?

Is this possible? Does CUBE/DIVI have the expertise NOW to do what BRCM does? And vice versa - does BRCM have the necessary expertise it needs to do what CUBE/DIVI does?

If the answer is "yes" to all these questions, then what gives with CUBE's market valuation. Is BRCM's too high or low? Or is the potential size of this emerging broadband market large enough to warrant even larger multiples than BRCM's current one?

Barring an outright acquisition, who's technology (CUBE's or BRCM's) would require more R&D and intellectual capital to attain?

An informed and intelligent answer from anyone or everyone will remove a large amount of uncertainty and shed a bright light on a broadly misunderstood company named C-Cube Microsystems.
