Andrew,

The PE of 100 is on trailing earnings. The analysts expect the company to earn about 36 cents this year, up more than 50% from last year, and somewhere near 60 cents in 1998.

The projections for the market for their products in the next few years is $1 billion, with Aspect taking the lion's share. With 11 million shares outstanding, that projects to many $ per share-that is why the multiple is justified.

I hear projections for the stock price to $100 which would be maybe 2 x sales for 2001 or 2002.

But the stock is a high flyer and one slip and they fall to much lower numbers. At 20 times 1998 earnings, the stock is a $12-14 item.

However if the analysts perceive that the business plan will accelerate with the SAP deal, we could easily see upward revisions and a quick move to $50.

In any case this issue is a great long term hold, if you would be satisfied with 400% in the next few years.

Elliot
