NASDAQ Market Operations keeps detailed records of all transactions. In fact, I seem to recall a current project called OATS (Order Audit Trail System)- which you can look up on NasdaqTrader.Com - which will, I believe, follow an order, timestamped, from its' origin to its execution place - AND will follow the electronic confirmation back.
