Sorry, gator, but I don't buy it. If the investigators have the serial number of the gun, they have the gun. It is up to them to prove who was holding the gun -- fingerprints, witnesses, whatever. If such things are really a concern to someone selling a gun, the seller should make a bill of sale and have the buyer sign it. In actuality, though, I very much doubt that investigators will pay much attention to someone who purchased a gun several years ago and who has a credible story as to what happened to the gun. jim
