In fact there were about 20 Vietnamiese sailors who were looking for refuge status. There were 4 stowaways tossed overboard, and after 1 and 1/2 years investigation our gov. felt that this mans family and himself were in grave danger for telling their story. It may seem trivial to YOU but not to many Canadians.
In regards to your comment as to how stupid it was for Canada to accept Vietnam draft dodgers, we didn't think so then and many of us don't think so now. Times are a changing! Most Canadian,by the polls,
agree this shit Malosivic has been doing for the last ten years has to be stopped.Again, I , say the US should be proud of it's leading role in this endeavor.IMHO Dave T.
