Every time I try and short NVDIA, Waterhouse tells me that they don't have any shares available. I've tried three times (all between $19 and $20). I'm really curious just how well their TNT2 launch will be going and I haven't heard anything about the Vanta other than one cardmaker saying they're making a board based on it.

When I look at the market, S3 seems to be going for the price-based low-end, ATi's Rage Pro will be threatened by the 810 chipset from Intel (did anyone else notice they're clocking their Mac Rage Fury @ 75 mhtz?), and TNT2 seems rather expensive without good branding for the OEM market. I think that the OEM's are in a sweet spot right now. Most of the new releases are fairly close in specs and all the chipmakers want as much OEM business as possible.

I like 3dfx and ATi here. 3dfx has a strong retail presence so the OEM market is not as crucial to them. ATi and 3dfx are both pretty strong companies.
