Over the past few months, I have frequently read on this thread and MB thread, posts by people who are dismayed that investors are borrowing on their credit cards and home mortgages to invest in the stock market. To state the obvious, if it works out, well and good, if it doesn't, you can lose your house.

I agree with you, and with Fleck, if pension fund managers are engaging in this practice, the potential risk is much more serious. When the Orange County story broke, it was shocking. It's a sign of the times if essentially prudent people with fiduciary obligations now consider it an acceptable practice.
