DTN Announces Record Revenues for the First Quarter of 1999
OMAHA, Neb., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Transmission Network Corporation (DTN) (Nasdaq: DTLN - news), announced today record revenues for the first quarter ended March 31, 1999. The Company also announced that Internet subscribers at March 31, 1999 totaled 10,400 as compared to 1,600 at March 31, 1998 and 4,700 at December 31, 1998.
REVENUES AND SUBSCRIBERS
Total revenues for the first quarter of 1999 increased 21% to $41.7 million compared to $34.4 million for the first quarter of 1998.
The Company attributed the revenue increases for the first quarter compared to the same period of 1998 primarily to revenue generated by acquisitions...Total subscribers at March 31, 1999 increased to 163,900 compared to 160,400 for 1998. The Company added 4,200 subscribers in the quarter ending March 31, 1999, primarily related to finalizing the acquisition of Paragon Software, Inc. Paragon Software, Inc. is a provider of real-time streaming quotes via the Internet under the ''Interquote'' brand name (www.interquote.com).
The Company continued to see growth in Internet subscribers which totaled 10,400 at March 31, 1999 as compared to 1,600 at March 31, 1998 and 4,700 at December 31, 1998. These Internet subscribers are primarily in the Agriculture and Financial divisions...
