After watching a special about Cassie (the girl who was asked if she believed in God and then was promptly killed by a shotgun blast in her face)I was amazed about the coincidences surrounding this murder.

First, this girl's family originally had been having a very difficult time w/her. She had become involved with friends who were bad influences, started becoming interested in the occult. They found out because THEY CARED ENOUGH TO SEARCH HER ROOM!!! I've done that with my children but only when I felt something was wrong. I didn't enjoy doing it, didn't like myself for doing it but it had to be done.

So, instead of taking the easy way and doing nothing, they uprooted her, forced to switch schools and have absolutely NO contact with any of her former "friends". Of course she objected -- very strongly, even screaming that she hated them!

They also made her go to church where she "found" God. This turned her whole life around.

Because of this decision, she lost her life.

While the other parents decided to take the "easy" way, let their kids do whatever they wanted. (At least according to what we know now it certainly appears to be the case.)

Also, Cassie had told her mother just a few days before this tragedy that it would be okay if she died now because she would go to heaven.
At least now these words can be a comfort to her Mom and Dad.

But the whole irony is that Cassie died because her parents did the right thing and the shooter's parent did not do the right thing. If Cassie hadn't switched schools, she never would have been at the scene that day.

I blame those parents, I blame the school and I also blame the police who were warned of a problem over and over again and did nothing.
