I don't think so. Although they will get a hefty royalty of every device sold (assuming it will work on a CDMA network). In the U.S. CDMA has the largest footprint of any digital cellular standard. Would you trust your kid to analog or TDMA based technologies?

In the next three years expect to see a cascade of innovative and useful devices on which Qualcomm will be collecting royalties. These royalties will be paid not because Qualcomm invented the new device but because the new device is dependent upon Qualcomm's innovations. This company is still under-valued.
