Repost: Pinnacle Oil's SFD technology is revolutionary, not evolutionary.

The SFD is something entirely new. Most other tools out there are variations on technology that has been in the public domain for decades. This is something the inventor stumbled upon several years ago and has going through rigorous testing by these first three partners. Amongst my friends I keep telling them this is Nobel prize type stuff, but as my disclaimer states, I am a bit biased after all the due diligence I have done. Unfortunately, the inventor will not tell even me how it works. Nor will the company patent the device as that would not prevent anyone else from building on for their own use. How would anyone know if you were using the device? Hell, I would build one myself immediately. For the last two and a half years I have pestered the inventor and management on guesses I have made and they have shot them all down. None of the geologists or geophysicists at Encal, Renaissance, or CamWest have a clue as to what it is he is measuring, they only see the results and know it works. At least that is what these partners tell me. At first that was a major stumbling block with the relationships between Pinnacle and the partners, now, after the results, it does not matter to the geologists and geophysicists.

Unlike spectral surveys, telemetrics, lasers, etc. etc., the SFD is not picking up some seepage or residues. Instead, this thing maps the structure itself, just like seismic would, and it also indicates, depending on the stress measured, the hydrocarbon content. As one of the top executives of Encal told me regarding Shoal Point, the SFD map was overlaid exactly on top of the seismic work and they matched up perfectly much to everyone's amazement.

(As an aside, Pinnacle was offered the 8% gross override on Anticosti Island as per the Encal contract and Pinnacle refused much to everyone's surprise saying that 8% of nothing is nothing so don't bother. Who would turn down a “free ride” unless you are supremely confident.)

Anyway, I digress. According to the SEC 10-K filing you can read all about it. Here is a snipet about how the SFD works and this is about as close as we will ever know how it works:

“The SFD detects non-electromagnetic energy patterns or "stress fields" apparently resulting from subsurface mechanical stress in rocks and subsurface pressure differentials. Each type of subsurface condition generates a unique energy pattern. The SFD captures these energy patterns through its "SFD Sensor," a passive transducer that generates a quantum field which, in turn, responds to the energy patterns. (See "Business--Theoretical Basis of Stress Field Detector" below).”

I have heard through back channels that a lot of exploration companies are a bit nervous up in Calgary that the SFD is for real and are keeping an eye open for any news they can get. For if it is, they are in big trouble long term. Meanwhile, these partners are playing it very close to the vest. First it was fear (fear that Pinnacle was a fraud), but now it is greed (how to prevent the competition from knowing what they have). Shoal Point and the rest of the structures being drilled over the next couple of months are going to blow this story wide open, IMO.

This story is being anti-hyped (think back to my last comments about greed.) It has taken me years to do the work I have on PSFD. Read the 10-K, it is a great place to start.
