Transformation Processing Inc. Announces Signing of Two Municipal Government Contracts
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999-- Transformation Processing Inc. (OTCBB: TPII - news) announced today that the Company has signed a professional services contract with the Regional Municipality of Niagara and, The Regional Municipality of Durham has selected TPI to supply Year 2000 solution software.
Regional Municipality of Niagara
The Regional Municipality of Niagara recently installed new application software for accounting, financial systems and project control. The application is being installed in an NT 4.0 network with Microsoft SQL server 6.5 (migrated from a VMS COBOL environment). As part of the planning process, the Municipality has looked outside for broad technical expertise in order to support this installation.
Bob Diakow, Corporate Information Systems Officer at the Regional Municipality of Niagara said, ''The region faces many IT challenges and TPI has presented us a meaningful opportunity to effectively manage a number of these topics.'' TPI was aggressive in its approach and it soon became apparent that TPI had the depth to fulfill the ultimate goal in this particular project.
TPI's Director of Professional Services, Jack Waterfield said, ''The requirement in this instance is much broader than this press release can impart. It was TPI's understanding of the their technical environment which appealed to the Municipality. We are looking forward to a long-standing relationship with Niagara and are relying on our expertise in key areas to maintain this in good stead''.
Regional Municipality of Durham
After reviewing a number of presentations from prospective suppliers, the Regional Municipality of Durham, as part of its overall Year 2000 project, has selected TPI to provide, install and support IT desktop Year 2000 solution software. The package will automate the inventory; assessment, remediation, and testing of the Regions' complete IT system including hardware, software, spreadsheets and databases to ensure Year 2000 compliance.
David McMullen, Manager Year 2000 Projects, at the Regional Municipality of Durham said, ''The threat to the Region by Year 2000 was a bit of a 'black hole' since it involved everything from computers and software to fire alarms and water treatment systems. With this in mind, the region has been diligent in its effort to review the entire spectrum. In this particular instance, TPI was selected to provide desktop IT Year 2000 solution software for the region. TPI has shown us that this application not only inventories our IT assets but it also inspects the data stored to ensure that no hidden formulae or macros contain dates which are non-compliant. Probably most appealing was the fact that this installation will ensure compliance after the inventory is completed.''
TPI's Account Executive, Al Barnes said, ''TPI provided comfort in this instance by ensuring and demonstrating to the Region of Durham that the software acquired was accurate, robust and simple to use. The application will allow the Region to actively monitor its' entire IT enterprise for unauthorized changes or additions through the millennium thus, ensuring the integrity of their systems' compliance and their Year 2000 IT project.''
