Except that their major competition in wireless broadband comes from AT&T. It's a different market. The FTC cannot allow such concentration of a defined market segment as would result from a merger of RR and ATHM. They'd be sued if they did drop the ball and let it pass. But if MSFT or AOL allowed Comcast+UMG to drop out of both RR and ATHM, then a merger would be possible.

And Jermoluk's comments? I think they indicate that the guy is completely out of the loop. They would do little more than provide the FTC with reason to deny the merger.
