To Teflon: Hey maybe we did work together before. In any case, perhaps we can help each other here. As you know I a close to zero help on SFE but am a long time student of telecom equip (and networking before that - that's where I made Mike Buckley's acquaintance - some years ago). He has had my deep respect ever since BTW. On telecom, I decided that buying equipment suppliers was safer (since could sell to any relevant operator) than the operators themselves. Like the railroad equip suppliers vs the railroads themselves.

Then as mentioned, I thought data was the future. So the question was how best to move data rapidly and efficiently? This was a tie back to networking BTW and why I still own Cisco as my only current grey gorilla. Even though the Q was primarily wireless voice there were indicators early on that CDMA could be an efficient way to move data - after all Code Division Multiple Access uses data at base. So I picked up the Q twice. First was in early 1990/1991 when I also bought Cisco. Then I rode for a year or two and sold when Korea was in its CDMA growing pains and no other major sales were being made. I came back about three years ago and have been an enthusiast ever since - disappointed by the Asia debacle but not about to sell anything at all. In fact about a year and a half ago I picked up some Q LEAPS which have recently been moving pretty strongly upward. Uniphase was my early fiberoptics component equipment supplier buy. Enough for now. Could ramble on and on. The problem of an old retired guy. All the best. Chaz too
