Fred has a good relevant question. As announced, BRCM has a design win for the GI DCT-5000 box. Which chips? The front end Cable modem chip? Graphics Chip? MPEG decoder chip? CPU? What else is in there. Before some of you take the Cube Bull(sh!t) postion on me, as you have with Mr. Scholes, let it be known that I own both BRCM and Cube. I am concerned here though, about the lopsided valuations between the two. These things tend to correct at some point. I am also getting a bit nervous about the Open standards movement in settop boxes as it relates to BRCM and would enjoy hearing some real related details.
