Virginia has had a concealed-carry law for a few years, and I don't think it's had any effect on crime one way or the other. I haven't heard any stories of people who blew others away in a traffic fracas, nor of people who saved their own lives because they had a concealed weapon. Maybe I don't read the right newspapers, I read the Washington Post and the Washington Times, which do have regional sections.
I certainly haven't started listening to country in the Rover, not even Lynyrd Skynyrd, although I won't turn it off if I hear it on the radio. Nor the Allman brothers, Creedence, JJ Cale, all ok in my book but I don't own their records and wouldn't buy them. Right now on the CD changer I have U2, a new release double album of B-sides and alternate cuts; Jimi Hendrix' greatest hits; Fleetwood Mac from the old days, when it was a blues band, the last public performance by the legendary Peter Green; and the live Jane's Addiction.
I would guess that in the Philippines you don't have quite the selection of new music we have here. I hear a lot of stuff on the radio that I like, Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins and stuff like that. |
