Expatriate Appoints Vice-President Investor Relations
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Dr. Harlan Meade President of Expatriate Resources Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Carol Ellis as Vice-President of Investor Relations for the Company. In this capacity she will be responsible for developing and managing the Company's investor information program to ensure timely and accurate disclosure of information on the affairs of the Company. She will coordinate the investor information activities of Mr. Johan Katz in Europe and Mr. Lance Mayers of Gateway Communications.
Ms. Ellis brings diverse experience in business and the mineral industry. She holds Bachelors of Science in Geology and Master of Business Administration degrees and has worked as a geologist, mining analyst and mineral industry consultant. As part of her compensation, Ms. Ellis has been granted an incentive stock option in respect of 100,000 shares, exercisable at $0.54 per share, subject to regulatory acceptance.
The Company's investor relations program took form early in the year with the successful launch of the website www.expatriateresources.com. Approximately forty meetings have been held with brokerage firms and institutions in Vancouver, Toronto and London, England during the past two months as the Company seeks to inform the investment community of the numerous changes that have occurred within the Company. These presentations have been well received and appreciation for the expanding portfolio of quality assets is being recognized.
The Company has working capital of approximately $1.85 million including a recently announced $247,500 private placement of flow- through shares at $0.55 per share. The Company intends to raise an additional $1.8 million during the year to replace a similar amount of proposed 1999 mineral expenditures. The Company's investor relations program is key to the success of its financing programs. We are pleased to have Ms. Ellis directing the investor relations activity.
A new investor information package has been completed and is being distributed to investors. The annual report will be available shortly and the Company's Annual General Meeting has been set for June 30, 1999 at 9:30 a.m. at Suite 1710 - 1177 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, B.C.
