ayahuasca is a plant found in the Amazon basin. It contains some of the most interesting and powerful psychedelic constituents known to man. When combined with another plant (banisteriopsis cappi) it creates a brew (known also as ayahuasca or yage) that is employed by shamans in spiritual ceremonies and rituals. On the most basic level, that is what ayahuasca means. (now you'll all think I am some kind of freak! ;^) )
