SIMS Communications Signs Agreement With InfoSpace.com

Business Editors and Health/Medical/High-Tech Writers

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999--SIMS
Communications (NASDAQ:SIMSC) Tuesday announced that it has initiated
plans to become the Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) of health care Web portals by
teaming with IBC Inc. and InfoSpace.com (NASDAQ:INSP).
Mark Bennett, SIMS chief executive officer, stated "SIMS and
InfoSpace.com make a powerful team. By combining SIMS healthcare and
E-commerce content to such InfoSpace.com resources as yellow pages,
white pages, classifieds, and shopping directories, SIMS will increase
the depth of the Web portal and encourage longer, more frequent
visits."
Bennett continued, "We are very enthusiastic about the
profit potential of building a virtual community for net surfers with
healthcare related interests. The Web portal is a perfect complement
to SIMS onemedicalservice.com electronic commerce system
whereby consumers will be able to order over 5,000 home medical
products from the Bergen Brunswig Corp. (NYSE:BBC) catalog. Our new
Web portal will provide a full range of the Web's most popular
services including free e-mail, free Web page communities, chat
communities, auctions, targeted advertising, instant messaging, a
personalized start page, an Internet directory, e-commerce, yellow
pages, white pages, classifieds, city guides, investing, news, sports
scores, community, government, e-shopping, international listings, and
business services."

gateway to the Internet such as Yahoo, Excite (NASDAQ:XCIT), Lycos,
Go2Net (NASDAQ:GNET), and Infoseek (NASDAQ:SEEK), that provides many
services and features for its visitors. Because the Internet is
growing so rapidly, specialized or niche portals are being developed
as the hubs or gateways to the Internet for groups of individuals with
specific interests. For example, iVillage and Women.com are Internet
portals for women, c/Net (NASDAQ:CNET) and ZDNet (NYSE:ZD) are
Internet portals for computers and technology, MecklerMedia's

is a portal to law.
SIMS Communications' products include medical insurance
verification, medical claims processing, prepaid phone card
activations, customer affinity programs, financial transaction
processing using credit cards and ATM/Debit cards and customized
associated vertical market applications.
SIMS' subsidiary One Medical has developed an automated POS
ordering system which acts as a communications platform, allowing
pharmacies to sell home medical equipment (HME) products and services.
The terminal also processes and verifies insurance medical cards, and
is being marketed and installed in physician offices and hospitals.
SIMS MedCard System(TM) is a technologically advanced program for
medical benefits verification data retrieval and insurance claims
billing system. It is the only system that processes 100% of
third-party insurance billings electronically. SIMS MedCard System is
endorsed by the Suffolk County Medical Societies' 1,600-member
physician community and the company has recruited 16 independent sales
organizations to sell the MedCard System since January 1, including
the National Healthcare Buying Alliance (NHBA).
