as of April 14, 1999, the Company had approximately 108,000 registered bidders.

That means over a period of 10 weeks, the number of registered bidders has gone up by 13,000. This is not exponential growth and does not justify a billion dollar market cap.

I think it is a reasonable assumption that employees &friends and shareholders have registered themselves as bidders (as part of their DD process). I am not denying that shareholders cannot be customers.
