<<Rajiv, how do these numbers compare to say EBAY? Do they have more users? BIDS numbers somehow don't seem that high. >>
UBID, whose 1998 revenue was $48million US compared to BIDS' $23million CDN , had only 228,000 registered users as of their 1998 year end. I think they'd have to be a *lot* more concerned about than BIDS, don't you? <g>
Oh, and as to gross margin, I note that UBID is having significant trouble maintaining theirs: 1997 gm was 11.1%, 1998's was barely over 8. Yikes!*
WUWT
* this last was to illustrate some of the games played on this board: you'd have to go look at UBID's financials to realize their 1997 revenue was only $9,000. I simply reported something without sufficient context for you to judge its meaningfulness, a trick played over and over again by some posters here. Be careful with what you read.
The info about registered users, to reassure you all, is straight goods from their 1998 financial statements, available on their site. |
