It's really 'neutral' news. It means that Iomega stock shouldn't tank for at least another quarter or two (possibly just prolonging the agony, and creating more missed opportunity costs from good stocks). Remember, Sony wasn't there in 1998 when Iomega lost millions. Iomega did that to themselves.

Again, I really think the scenario that's playing out here is one where all product lines (but ZIP) will continue to be money losers. ZIP will be an add on 'give away' option only (one of many flavors: 100Mb, 250Mb, ???). So all eggs are in one basket: disk sales.

Again, we will see, but this is the way it's played out so far..
