Young, you have two pieces of mis-information. The IDE Zip is a separate, internal, version of the Zip drive. I believe it is only available to OEM customers. The external drives are SCSI or parallel. The parallel is slower, but more portable. Not all computers have external SCSI ports. The SCSI and IDE drives are about the same speed, in that the Zip disk is the limiting factor, not the interface.

Second, the Epson Zip *is* an Iomega drive, private labeled by Epson.
