The beauty of finance is that policies that are "best for the company and profits" are ALWAYS aligned with policies that are "best for shareholders." This is a tough concept to accept but many rigorous academic studies have supported it. Look at Continental Europe. It's a disaster and falling further and further behind America's quality of life precisely because their society insists the two "interests" are NOT aligned. Spinning off Divicom makes sense from any perspective. But AB is French and probably struggles with "shareholder value" I'm counting on Paul Wick to give him a crash course. You can count on it too.
