Bob: I am a Canadian who used E*Trade Canada for more than a year. I tried to join E*Trade US to get their Level II system. I filled out their application and sent it to them with a large initial deposit.

They sent the whole thing back with a letter saying they have an agreement with E*Trade Canada not to accept applications from Canadians.

After researching a number of alternatives, I found this thread and trusting Tim Luke, applied to A.B. Watley who were happy to accept my application and my deposit once I completed a W8 form. I started trading with them in February.

I am very pleased with A.B. Except for one day when PC Quote was down, their system has always been available to me with less then 3 seconds execution time.
