Clearly not, donkeyman. I mean, I'm long BIDS and all, but...

We all rebut attempts to diss the Internet investing "bubble" by saying that you can't value these beasts on fundamentals like profits, etc. But too many times we fall into the trap then of comparing *our* stock to a high flyer on the basis of some of those same fundamentals.

What cuts it in Internet stocks is: market leader/market definer (first one there), revenue growth, management team, ability to leverage the brand to new revenue sources, partnerships and other tie-ins with market leaders, and so on. The whole bet is on the future. So we can't relate our stock price to EBay's based on revenue levels and profits if we hold others to a different standard.

And yes, I think BIDS is doing just fine, for all the reasons Cameron has so ably delineated in earlier posts.
