russett back to Keith,

I look forward to your Scwab report as well. See if they take self-directed mutual funds as well. IMO the banks saw this coming 6 months ago when so many of us were signing up for accounts. They all have US subsidiaries and saw the huge increase in online trading there and should have moved to put the people and equipment in place. Even now the people on the floor say few steps are being taken to hire and train additional staff because the powers that be think this is just a temporary phenomenon. They will staff for average service demand, not the peaks.

This is typical of banks, whose execs think the only reason for customers is to generate fat incentive bonuses for themselves. Service is always a secondary concern because they have little competition thanks to continued government protections.

russett the burned one.
