>Pruguy:I don't know how to copy links on this system, but you posted one...go back and look........did you read the article? not an inexpensive process by any means.<

>Horrigan: With the server version connected to the Web, you can continuously transmit streaming video, giving you your own live video channel. (An additional 4 million "TV" stations might prove interesting.)

The Server software for this is $499, and the complete setup including all hardware is under $5,000.<

>As well as its QuickTime claim on the Internet, Apple staked a claim on professional video editing with the release of Final Cut Pro ($999, or free with certain G3s).

It is video-editing software for professionals who want ease of use and low cost. Final Cut, with a digital video camera and a new G3, gives a person a digital video workstation for under $4,000. *Last year*, the cost of a lesser system was $12,000.<

To clarify, this article refers to two systems; one a server for $5,000 and the second, a video-editing system for $4,000.

However, there's no reason you can't do both on single dual boot system for $6,000. [Or $8,000 if you want to load a gig of RAM.]

$12,000 refers to *last year's* price for a video-editing station alone.

Sorry if my first reply was confusing.
