Good point about Cassie and her parent's concerned efforts to turn her life around. You had the "cojones" to step up to my agitating post with a thoughtful response. I agree with you that the parents bear the majority of the responsibility for this horrible situation. I know this is an unpopular stance on SI, but I would love to see these parents sued. Where I grew up, if kids were caught breaking windows and vandalising property, the parents were made to pay. Those this is by no means comparable, I think the concept is the same. Good luck upstate.

Jody Ritchie, yeah other black kids said they were harrassed by trench coats and the gen. pop. But point well taken.
