Advertising NDS Is Like Feeding Snow To Polar Bears

It doesn't even have to be a big huge extravaganza either, just some simple TV spots touting the benefits of NDS, digitalme et al. Real life issues handled by technology .>>
Let's face it. Those who need to know about NDS better know about it now, for the companies that embrace NDS NOW will eat the breakfast, lunch and dinner of those who don't. Forget about advertising NDS. That's like feeding Snow and Ice to the Polar Bears.
We need to get Novell off its pattern of acting like it manages the growth and development of technology icebergs - islands of specific expertise and influence in geekdom who's mindshare eventually melts.
This is a REVOLUTION, man!! Let's not forget what brought us here.
Suggest that we open up Novell to more earthy, basic references.
Here's an offering that's very simple: Directory-based technology apps spread like the veins which feed leaves which grow trees.
To date, the Internet has been a strawman, trunks, branches, no leaves. We just haven't learned how to grow leaves. Worse, we can't even identify the TREES out there.
LEAVES are where ALL the action takes place. That's where you and I reside. We grow our little leafdoms, invite others to visit and perhaps we'll be granted enough support to continue branching out, reaching new "space" in our quest for truth, information and understanding.
Forget about feeding snow to polar bears. The techies that need to know or want to know....KNOW!
There is a huge race on right now - I liken it to the intial gold rush to get websites in the early-mid 90s'.
Now we have discovered we can actually grow leaves!!! Find these little communities and ALL their related resources, etc. Connect and tie these zones of influence and resource info and apps together so that community participants can enjoy a value-added which THEY - not Yahoo, AOL - control and can more direcly benefit from.
Get Tropical.
Get Tribal.
Get Techno.....
Get Going....
Get out there...
Don't get detailed. Just the basics. Build mindshare.
