First, it has a $795 price tag and it's about 30 pages each month, FYI.

Second, it is geared towards those people who need to track the intricies of what is going on, not just from a news perspective, but from a features, etc. perspective. Each issue has a number of news items that are probably discussed in a few grafs on the web site, but goes into much more detail. We have a number of feature stories that get to the bottom of issues we read about in here all the time. How many lines WILL be installed over the next four years? Is reverse ADSL viable? Who can put together the best DSLAM and win these telco bids? What role DOES ISDN play with ADSL -- are they really complementary? Etc. The discussions you have here in this Forum are largely unchecked and in many cases wild ass guesses. We've got former broadband network designers and strategists checking into this stuff and putting it in a newsletter format. You also get a transcribed interview with a telco looking to deploy ADSL each month, in their own words telling who they will use, do they care about DMT versus CAP, etc. And there are news items, on-line summaries, market summaries, etc. This is supplemented by special on-line services on our web site, and you will see a lot of our news items in the near future having a button for subscribers to click to get a more indepth story.

Truly, the newsletter is aimed towards people that live and die for ADSL. These are the people designing the units, putting in the systems, and funding these firms. (We had an article last month profiling the next three companies to IPO this year!) We try to provide a public service with our web site, and the average consumer should be able to keep up with what is going on through that mechanism. But if you really want to know what is really happening in the bowels, we are the only publication out there doing it, and from what I hear we are doing quite well. BTW, just so you know, there are several DMT companies on our editorial steering committee, including Amati, Westell, and PairGain.

Gee, thanks for the great opp for an ad!-db
