Orlando this is an overview of the conference call that Nat Nithi sent me PM last night. I think it's worth sharing with the message board.

Vendit:

Here is my read on AOL's broadband strategy.

1) They (AOL team) clearly recognize and are working on several fronts.

2)They have strong relationship with Bell Atlantic and SBC.

3) It seems AOL has been testing DSL services for more than 4 years
(I guess in limited locations with small test population) and have
uncovered several technical hitches along the way. And they claim that
now technology side is not an issue. They are pondering over the marketing model based on one or more killer applications.

4) They are also looking into cable-based broadband access in a multifaceted way and looking for long-term value rather than short
term opportunities. They also mentioned several alliance are brightening. (My guess is that they want to buy and own something
for a long-term strategic move rather than just rent on yearly basis.)

5) They are also looking at all possible access devices and special devices.

6) Long-term strategy is to focus more on business customers and leverage consumer segment brand name to leverage on both fronts.
I think this is the key focus.

Overall the call was in upbeat mood.

-Nat

Thank you Nat,
