All Qt on the Western Front

As winter gradually gives way to spring, a carpet of fresh grass covers the charred earth of the Linux landscape.

Things seem peaceful now. The Gnome project is finally out of beta. The KDE folks are basking in the glory of their recent "Innovation of the Year" award at Germany's CeBIT conference, the world's largest computer fair. Both sides of last year's famous "GUI schism" have once again beat their e-mail servers into plowshares, as the rivals in the latest high-tech holy war to end all holy wars are instead working to reap a bumper crop of new Linux users this fall.
