Hi Steve/All. I started this thread back in June, looked into the company, decided against it at that time, and have only become reaquainted with it by the little story which I am about to tell you (this is strictly a take it for what it's worth story. I still don't own any stock but will look at it closer). I got this promo in the mail about a month ago from SERIF. They wanted to send me PagePlus 3.0 and DrawPlus 2.0 (Desktop publishing software) for FREE. WELLLLLL.. that makes your eyebrows go up. Anyway I called and sure enough they were sending it out free ($15. with manuals which I got). It just so happens that they had just put out the next version of both (32bit Win95) and you could get that for a price. Anyway I bit for the free offer and just loaded it (on Win95) and I've got to tell you I am impressed, not only with the power but the ease of use. So I call to register it and I get a message saying sorry for the wait but that they had merged with SOFTWARE PUBLISHING CORP and were busy. I waited and finally did my business. One of the guys in the office has a business on the side and I was showing him the products. He calls the company (SERIF) and asks for the offer. They say that the frebbies are gone but for $10 a disk they were his (which he bit for). He starts shooting the breeze with the rep and the rep said their demand has exceeded all expectation and that they were so busy that they were getting ready to move into bigger facilities. Don't know if all this is significant but seems smart if you have little market share then you create it with free stuff and once folks find out how good it is (and it is good) your get your money on upgrades and new products. Don't know how SERIF fits into SPCO's bottom line, but it sounds like somebody is doing something right and people appear to be responding. Again take it for what it's worth or call their customer service at 1-800 557-3743 and see what you think. Best wishes, Rick
